Here is an idea to plant network sensors which would detect off road vehicles, people on foot, electronic device, autonomous incoming vehicles of any size. Today network sensors are becoming very small and very capable. They can detect sound with sonar. They can detect heat. They can use optical flow sensors to detect movement. All kinds of great stuff. So why are we not putting htese around opportunity targets where International Terrorists may wish to attack to disrupt our economy, flow, power, transportation, etc.? Well we surely are in the process of the best method. Here are some thoughts to ramp up fast. We need a system to implant these sensors quickly every where. But how? Implanting equipment to be used at a future date might be by remotely control autonomous vehicles, something stable, which can fly low within a grid pattern built into the software of the craft and using specific GPS Data from multiple satellites and controller. Idea only. First An ultralight lighter than air craft distributes cone shaped ice cubes via gravity to nearby surrounding perimeter road ways such as a prison, nuclear plant, important bridges, airports, ports, etc. In the Cone shaped ice cubes which are 3 inches in diameter at the top and zero at point. The cone shaped ice cube is made from condensation while flying. Temperature during flight and barometric temperature to be right. Forward momentum provides adequate relative wind to make wind-chill the correct temperature to make ice out of the air using a venturi shaped ice maker to speed up air and cool it. Then the Ultralight mini blimp travels intended path where robotic servo mechanism will drop the ice cubes along the perimeter of intended scrutiny. The ice cube on impact with the ground will bury itself. A spike out the top would be the antenna for relay of future data of an intruder or object approaching on the surface or in the air within 50 feet of the ground. The cone shaped ice cube contains an outer skin of 100 mils of ice around a sheeting of plastic and ice is also in side cone of plastic shell where frozen within in the ice is a small circuit board build, which can with stand the freeze and thaw out, Yes they have these already. The circuit board will be made by him and in conjunction with the MIT Components being used for UAVs, Robotics and DARPA and will be networked together with all th other sensors dropped in the area of scrutiny. The bottom of the cone will be a point of metallic substance which is an antenna and continues vetically through the small device with the wire up to the circuit board. This will provide an encapsulated unit which will not break on impact. Once the water thaws, it will be used along with a coating on the metal combination as fuel for the devise. You could in fact even use the hydrogen cell phone technology, which is nearing the horizon. Each unit will be dropped from the ultra light and fall to earth. Every twentieth unit could have the power of a small poly ion-lithium battery or hydrogen cell power made from the water in the ise whne it melts. If we use this on Mars (dropped by a balloon type drone) or the latest MAVs by NASA or which are flown powered by a laser beam. During Mar's night with cool air (different compound but as long as it contains hydrogen no matter). The reason for Ice encapsulated micro network sensors is that the ice controls risk of shock damage on impact and buries it without the tedious job of putting all these network sensors everywhere. If an intruder approaches a pipeline it wakes up and alerts the system and triggers an event of varying degrees, a visual may provide that it is an ELK or Deer crossing, or a bunch of kids in an ATV or someone who is way off limits and needs to be called to question immediately or sooner. After this The devises will bury themselves on impact and the dirt will collapse due to the shape of ice formation and no one will know they are present. In the event of the use of Hydrogen Cell using the water from the ice cube once melted as it's fuel, each devise will power up as the ground heats up and then all turn on and talk to each other and four will be devices like the Delorme GPS hand held units. These will talk to the other units and pin point each position. Once this is completed the Delorme units which are dropped in intervals of seven miles of each other will use up their fuel and turn off forever. But first they will pin point the other devises exact locations to each other. These units will convert the H2O in to fuel and oxygen escapes. They will charge an ion lithium battery miniaturized like an ELT unit battery. These little units will only turn back on when a pulse of energy is sent to contact them on a specific frequency and they will turn on to give exact coordinances to pilotless vehicle. These one time transmitters will then go quit again and conserve energy as the vehicle speeds along on whatever course it is going. All satellites are only used once and no communication is made only satellite positions calibrated by their out going signals. All this technology is right here now. Lots of these units would be dropped so that if a few failed, well so what really? By using this idea within the scheme of things each device could talk to a UAV which was sent out to make visual or contact or warn intruder or kill target dpending on wher it is. A prison break gives one warning then kills target. At a nuclear powerplant it gives a half a warning and/or kils target. "You have Intruded, you will now be killed" or "Immediate action is required turn and run away or you will be killed." This technolgoy could also be used for future invasions in the military, send a UAV into lay down the intended path of troop movement by studying the terrain and laying down the devices. We could fly a non-thermal-signature craft over the location of travel as much as a year or two in advance. Sandia could use the SARGE unit to follow these signals into position for battle without troops and no foot soldier would ever set foot on the enemies location or on our borders of important defenses. A mars rover could drive around with data from calibrated during the falling units decent as to where the rocks are to go around them even if the satellite fails later, or if the path criss crosses the locations needed for transmissions, thus you no longer need four satellites to pin-point rocks, ditches or canyons to stay on an exact trail or intended travel place. If the International terrorists used this technology against us we could have a scanner run through frequencies on a vehicle or aircraft flying over an obvious intended path towards an important and potential infrastructure target and as soon as the devises woke up and started communicating to themselves we could target them individually with power surges, or un bury them. Or fry them by using the NSA's technology to scan 100's of thousande of frequencies similar to the VLA project, we could do this from an AWACS Aircraft or high powered slow moving mini-blimp UAV. Another thought if you wanted to be funny about it, would be to put these devises in to the road signs with solar panels on top of road signs and a small wire as the antenna it would be very small and you could not see it and the devise stays within the road sing poles. We could do this dilbertly inour country to warn people of road hazards or ice talking to the network sensors in cars, trucks, motorcycles. Or on tracks for trains. This would even make it so handicapped people could drive without running off the road. GM landstar systems could navigate in fog, storms, heavy traffic and this technology attached near road ways would save lives and move people. Or freight on highspeed highways or road ways for large hover craft to move products to market over long expanses of the US, desert regions of the earth without the friction of rail. Or even oceans (with little devises floating on water using hydro-generation from wave movement to keep re-positioning themselves). We could track floating water debris in the shipping lanes between Hawaii and Seattle or possible incursions of sand bars on the Potomac or Cheasapeak which would be seen by the depth finders on most small Yacht water craft. Such devices could also be used as triple redundancies so that if the enemy who wants to have star wars with us or flash out our telecommunication by way of ground devise pointed up at a satellite, it really would not matter, we would not need them anyway. In otherwords our entire National Security should not be based on satellites until we know we have additional back ups in case of a Solar Flare of high magnitude or thermo nuclear explosionin space taking out satellites. Also a neutron bomb would be less of a concern if these devises were buried and made out of various other types of material and set at a frequency which would be less affected by a blast of energy. We are Still thinking on this one. But this is feasible now, you could fly in to Iran in a Black ultra light at night and drop these also totally undetected. Low level not seen and no radar record, and fly out, send in your unmanned tanks and gattling guns on tracks or wheels with lots of ammo, no people, etc. Surround the city and ask for unconditional surrender. Robotic weapontry would simply shoot anything that moves. Or just send in a car wash guys franchisee into the area in advance of conflict and drive down the highway at night or shoot out the window these ice cubes? Pretty simple stuff. If you never need them great, but if you do everything is ready to rock and no logistics like the Army that moves on it's stomachs-Patton? Rapid deployment and chaos with enemy anytime you need to persuade them to see your political will, all in true Von Clauswitz style. It would be as if the horse is already inside the gates? The ice idea if you will recall was from an earlier conversation about clearing land mines from an aerial transport blimp and then putting seeds in ice to replant as you go, ice provides weight equal to the hardness of soil and the depth you need to bury the seed, ice thaws, seed has water, encased in a polymer sheel, which would soak up water as it decayed and the seed filters the polymer, it dissolves and the water starts the cycle of life from the seed. The polymer idea of course coming from the Hurricane wall polymer balls which would absorb 2000 times their weight in moisture collapsing the wall of the Hurricane all dropped from a C-141 by the AirForce's Hurricane Hunters. The Hydrogen cell, powered cell phones came from Popular Mechanics, SARGE unit from Scandia, Satellite technology from GPS-GIS Delorme and ERSI newsletters, Ultra light idea from a movie, On-board ice makers from windtunnel test results and NTSB venturi and carburetor ice reports. The rest from conversations with my uncle. Anyway this is doable and no one has done it yet. Micro-Devises and communication between each other in swarms is talked about quite frequently these days and Michael Creighton's new book gave us ideas on this too. Now with the latest technologies with network sensors and UAV swarms, you could automate a system to portect any site or opportunity you need to protect. Now put a box on a piece of graph paper with each box on the graph paper is 1 inch square. Then in the center put the basic shape of the perimiter you wish to protect, now assign each box a number. Now put the graph paper inside on the bottom of a box. No put graph paper on the walls of the box. Now poke holes on the box string fishing wire across the to the other side that corresponds with it's symmetrical box. Do this both parallel and perpendicular. This forms an artifical grid you wish to protect. You can do this on a cad cam too. But you must first gt it right in your mids of what you are trying to do. Now you need a networked sensor on the ground in the center of each box or several to guard against breakage or Murphy? That's it. On a pipeline, railroad track, highway it is much easier simply put the devices along the road way, track or pipeline with antennas on road signs, tops of pipeline infrastructues mounts or railraod warning signs. Afterall line of sight is much easier than putting network sensors on uneven terrain where objects can hide from view within the low spots. I hope this makes sense.
