Fort Collins makes water restrictions an issue for car washing. Which is okay by us sense we are extremely water efficient. http://www.fcgov.com/water/conserv.php however starting now washing your car can be a finable offense. http://www.fcgov.com/news/index.php?ID=082002080213001 This is getting serious also this week in Roanoke VA too; http://www.carwash.com/news.asp?mode=4&N_ID=34449 and also here; http://www.roanoke.com/roatimes/news/story136522.html Literally out of business. Can it get any worse off. Yes it can and it will before it gets better. El Nino will help some on the West Coast, but other are in for a terrible time. Just be thankful you do not live in Austrailia right now. Other cities are restricting water also; In 1999 they did this all over the country; http://ens.lycos.com/ens/jan99/1999L-01-07-01.html and things are worse now; In Colorado Springs same thing now; http://www.gazette.com/stories/0608top1.php also in Pueblo CO, and in NM. Many cities and states have begun the long education process, which should not even be necessary; http://www.dnr.state.sc.us/climate/sco/ourwater.html . WSJ reported last Friday that water capacity was running only 53% of normal presently; http://www.water.denver.co.gov/conservation/DROUGHTPLAN02.pdf And they have a plan, but if you read closely, it is very serious indeed. And in places like Phoenix it does not matter who you are that just about cuts building of anything; http://www.ci.phoenix.az.us/WATERSERVICES/faq.html No new water hook ups and SRP is cutting capacity 33% and the customers in that arid desert called Phoenix will just have to deal with it. These issues are real and they are today. Many places have shut down car washes; http://www.nbc6.com/news/drought/nbc6-072502-jg-indez_explainer.2576a1c2.html and most have banned car washing at home which uses 75-150 gallons and car washes use only 23 or so fresh gallons and we use 2.3 or ten times less SUVs about 5-7 gallons per car. http://www.owasa.org/pages/faq.asp and http://www.mde.state.md.us/drought/faq_vehicles.asp and http://interests.caes.uga.edu/drought/articles/FAQ.htm and http://www.westwindsornj.org/drought.html and these are all East Coast. So you see it does not matter where in the US you are unless maybe you are off the Mississippi River or in Iowa, Minnesota or below the great lakes, we are in drought folks seriously and it is bad so just because San Antonio gets a flood that does not mean El Paso is a free for all. http://www.cityoffrederick.com/WaterConservation.htm . http://www.sptimes.com/News/webspecials/drought/index.shtml and http://www.wtsp.com/drought/hillsborough_restrictions.htm and just incase you think that this is a US problem after seeing the Eastern European Floods, think again. In Taipei same thing only much worse, they need the water to drink and they need it badly; http://taipeitimes.com/news/2002/05/07/story/0000135025 . http://www.cseindia.org/html/eyou/envedu/gnet/200107/04.pdf and In Africa, Middle East and places you never even thought of until just last year Afghanistan is hating it. Screw the food supply bring us water. So what have we done at the Car Wash Guys. We have developed the most efficient car wash in the fucking world using between 2.3 and 7 gallons to was small to extra large Excursion size SUVs. Why, two-fold; one we have a limitation to water capacity on the car wash trucks and two because water is an important issue and we have been doing it this way for over a decade. See for yourself why we are the best and here is the proof of our longevity; http://www.carwashguys.com/history/museum8.shtml So obviously today when we talk about water supply and conservation we mean it: http://www.carwashguys.com/082902_2.shtml and http://www.carwashguys.com/082602_1.shtml and http://www.carwashguys.com/fireseason.shtml . We are the Car Wash Guys and we understand the difference.
