The Quality VS The Speed, The Supply VS The Need, The Innovations are Abundance Indeed. Neil Cavuto Drives the point home, we have been discussing this. http://www.intellivu.com/main.asp?brand=&fnum=340&pathb=/articles1/ncavuto/cavuto050104.htm . There have been issues with Hispanic Labor problems with carwashes and some operators abusing employees: http://www.parthe.net/_cwg1203/00000057.htm , This bothers us and we have been trying to change things in our industry and doing well in our efforts: http://www.carwashguys.com/073102_2.shtml and http://www.carwashguys.com/082502_1.shtml and http://www.parthe.net/_cwg1203/00000056.htm . Some in the car wash industry are going to mostly robotic car washing and one business model being discussed and trying to franchise involves only four individuals to work there. Rapido Rapid Wash. Others in the industry are trying to fully automate using mostly robotic car washing, technology in and around the industry from SmartCars to robotic service systems are every where, for instance; Robotic Parking companies in many countries and states: http://www.roboticparking.com/ and even using RFID Tags, both passive and active units of all sorts. RFID is greatly increasing profits and efficiency in the Parking Industry. RFID makes paying for parking fast and easy. Source: Mobilemag.com - The system is based around an RFID-transponder card that is displayed permanently in the car like a permit. It has http://www.mobilemag.com/content/100/104/C2772/ We have been looking into the RFID stuff for quite awhile to help us find customers cars in large parking lots, they would pick up an RFID Tag at the front of the parking area, pay for the wash and then put it on their dashboards and go to work, then we would be washing the car and be able to identify those cars by the tags. Technology can make car washing; http://www.carwashguys.com and oil changing; http://www.OilChangeGuys.com much easier. We are highly impressed with many of the new technologies coming forth in the world. Some are literally out of this world; Holly UFO Batman; http://www.rbcnews.com/free/20040427114312.shtml . Now let’s fly these over Iran and freak them out? Speaking of people who are from some other planet, what on god’s green earth is Elliot Spitzer up to? Read this: -------------------- Eliot Spitzer, the New York state attorney general who wants to be governor, went too far in investigating an auto dealership that he suspected of discriminatory finance practices. There ought to be a law against the unconscionable way in which Spitzer trumped up the charges. No bias complaints had been filed against Metzner's dealership. But Spitzer's office says that its statistical analysis of ostensibly relevant census data suggested a "substantial" probability of discrimination against minority consumers. Its subpoena claimed that Armory charged minority customers higher markups than it did white customers on loans funded through Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp. Spokesmen for Spitzer won't say what caused his office to suspect Metzner of bias. Nor will they say exactly what census data formed the basis of their investigation. Metzner was able to prove that the claim was false. Transaction records showed that just three of the 69 loans the store financed through Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp. from April through July 2001 were marked up, and all three customers were white. Spitzer and Metzner reached a settlement in March that absolves the dealership of wrongdoing. Spitzer's office now calls the dealership a "model corporate citizen." But Metzner says it cost him $50,000 in legal fees to respond to the investigation. It's proper to go after lawbreakers. But there was no evidence against the dealership, which was forced to prove its innocence. That's not the American way. And while the settlement requires Metzner's dealership to charge the same markup rate to all customers, the dealer says he has abandoned markups in favor of flat fees to arrange loans. Spitzer used this settlement to draft legislation that would require New York dealerships to charge uniform markup rates. He could have proposed outlawing markups altogether, as some politicians have done in California. It's unfortunate that such a reasonable proposal came from such an irresponsible investigation. ------------------------- That is sure an interesting article, and since Japan attacked and raided Intel, 5 factories in Japan and now Elliot does this? Is he going to start a trade war we cannot finish, Japanese companies already see trade with the US like German companies do as they go after mergers for instance in our industry with Karcher and Chrysler in the US too. If we attack them, they attack us. Yet many of our companies are somewhat weakened. The EU attacks Microsoft, like our own FTC did, forcing them to share code, thus opening the consumer up to Spyware from governments, Adware from companies, attacks from hackers and it helped lawsuits from US lawyer terrorists and spitting in the face of free enterprise. Now may I please ask how that helps the consumer? Nissan which sells lots of cars that we wash did not do anything, they were chosen as a target because Elliot is running for governor and they are Japanese and he wants the union vote in NY. Great at the expense of the US being labeled as a Trading Partner Attacker in the Pacific Rim. So now China, who is about to tell us that they do not favor US laws there or our system of doing business, only our buying power of their products and would rather buy US Treasury bonds and own our country rather than buying consumables or durables? Interesting how these thins play out. Why is Elliot playing God and what is he thinking filing bogus lawsuits, yet saying “oh well” it is okay because we need to prevent predatory lending? What, so go attack and use extortion and media propaganda to get laws changed and who does this help? 51% of all cars are built in a NAFTA Country and Nissan has factories here too. Elliot Spitzer needs to shape up or ship out…Speaking of shipping; a small company in TX had a delivery truck to be washed. So a guy calls us up in Houston last week with one delivery van to be washed. We did not wash the little box truck, but the guy who owned it was very set in his beliefs; http://www.landoverbaptist.org/news1002/sniper.html . We are familiar with these types of delivery trucks and companies that make them; http://www.carwashguys.com/0020403_2.shtml and http://www.carwashguys.com/0041903_1.shtml . And we are sure the company will probably be washing their own truck since it is not within our service zones. I hope they do not use too much water, Water is a huge issue these days, in TX and all the Western states on the other side of it. All in their sixth year of droughts, as the billionaires in TX buy up water rights there, look at the areas across the West, six years of drought are resulting in ranch foreclosures and water worries at levels not seen since the Dust Bowl era. Source: Christian Science Monitor; April 27; http://www.csmonitor.com/2004/0427/p03s01-usec.html . And as we discuss this Lake Powell is in trouble, big trouble. Lake Powel could be run dry? Yes, it is true: Colorado might be forced to send it’s water downstream; Another two or three years of drought could drain Lake Powell and force Colorado to yield some of its precious water to California to meet legal obligations. Source: Santa Fe New Mexican (AP); 4/27 http://www.headwatersnews.org/stories/redirect.php?id=15060 . Utah’s Lake Powell is 117 feet below the full mark. It is less than the optimists half full. Lake Powell is at 42 percent capacity, the lowest it's been since the reservoir first began filling in 1970 and the result of the driest five-year period since record-keeping began. Source: Deseret News; 4/13; http://deseretnews.com/dn/view/0,1249,595055710,00.html . Officials says AZ Governor is ignoring the water crisis. Well we agree. The head of the state's largest water supplier said Gov. Janet Napolitano should be pushing the federal government to restart a desalting plant near Yuma which would save the state about 32 billion gallons of water a year. Source: Arizona Republic; April 2 http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/news/articles/0402waterfight02.html . Of course the issues is playing down the water issue in order to keep growth and jobs up for re-election purposes and to save the second fastest growing county in America from hardship until job recovery is completed. And the less water the higher the concentration of pollution in the water. For instance if a lake has 4% pollution and the lake is half full, the concentration is 8%, you see? This can cause issues with growth as can low capacity to serve the new residents. A limit to north Idaho's double-digit growth may come in the form of water, not a scarcity, but the inability of the Spokane River to dilute much more septic tank effluent, industrial discharge or farm runoff. Source: Spokane Spokesman-Review; April 14; http://www.headwatersnews.org/stories/redirect.php?id=14845 . Well there are lots of innovations and changes associated with logistics and mother nature these days.
